To ensure a smooth transition our preferred Carrier is Virgin Australia. VA 1362 at 8:30am when flying to Launceston. Conversely it’s VA 1373 4:35pm on the trip back to Melbourne.

Tranquil Derby Forest Cabins are located 4km out of Derby township. With a 24 hour shuttle service you will feel like you are staying in the forest whilst having the Derby township on your doorstep.

We want you to experience everything Derby has to offer off the trails. You will experience dining in The Hub, The Dorset Hotel, the famous Weldborough Hotel and more!
How you will spend 3 days

After landing in Launceston you will be greeted by our transfer vehicle containing your bike. We then make our way North East stopping halfway at Scottsdale for lunch and supplies. After arriving in Derby at approximately 1pm, we will check you into Derby Forest Cabins. The rest of the afternoon will be spent exploring the 34 purpose built mountain bike trails in Derby. Dinner will be at The Hub Wood Fired Pizza.

After breakfast and coffee we will make our way towards the incredible Blue Tier Forest Reserve. First up is the electrifying first 13km of the Bay of Fires Trail. Second up is the Blue Tier which will spiral you down towards a steak sandwich at the famous Weldborough Hotel. From here we will shuttle you back up so that you can ride the Atlas trail back into Derby. Dinner will be at the Dorset Hotel Derby. This is one hell of a day!

Following breakfast and check out, we will take you back up the the incredible Blue Tier Forest Reserve. You will then ride the entire 42km Bay of Fires Trail and finish with a swim at the stunning Swimcart Beach. After lunch at St Helens we start to make our way to Launceston so you are on time to catch your plane home.

We will arrange to meet you at your preferred location the day before you fly and load your machine on our vertical Singletrail rack. We are E-Bike compatible and your bike will be securely locked whilst In transit.

Our 4WD vehicles are clean and comfortable to ensure we smooth out the bumps on gravel roads when transporting you to the various trailheads. You will have an unlimited shuttle service whilst on tour with us.

Breakfast is included on day 2 and 3 at Derby Forest Cabins. All other meals and drinks will be at your expense. We supply Hydration tablets and Clif Bars whilst out on the trails.
Important Information
Travel Insurance
Whilst we will take every effort to ensure your bikes are not damaged during transit, we cannot guarantee this. All riders are encouraged to have travel insurance or separate bike insurance for your bike.
Health Insurance
All riders are encouraged to have private health cover, ambulance cover or both. If you join Cycling Australia as a recreational member you will have personal Accident and public liability insurance. These memberships are only $134 annually and will cover you 24/7 Basic Personal Accident Insurance.
Fitness Level
Over our 3 days you will ride over 100km of single trail with over 4000m of descending. To put this in perspective you will still be required to ascend over 2000m. You will have to have a good to very good level of fitness. If you are worried about your fitness level we would encourage you to take and E-bike.
Skill Level
All the trails we ride are blue or intermediate level. There are trails in Derby with higher degree of skill level required and it’s purely your choice if you wish to ride these trails. You will need to be proficient to ride intermediate trails on your own to join our tour.
E-Bikes
Our single trail vertical bike rack is capable of carrying E-bikes so feel free to bring one if you wish.
Your Safety
You will need carry a hydration bladder, bike mechanical spares and a mobile phone. Every 1km a sign will be displayed of your GPS Location should you get into any difficult.
